ABOUT US

Pescadero Films is a Colombian film and artistic production company founded by filmmaker Francisco MeCe and cultural manager and producer Andrea Bautista Pamplona.

After collaborating on various audiovisual and staging projects in Colombia and Germany since 2012, we decided to join forces to create Pescadero Films S.A.S., focused on exploring and understanding creativity in its broad spectrum through documentary portraits, as well as providing accompaniment to creators who are in the process of conceiving audiovisual projects and who strongly look for a space in Colombia to make their projects possible in one or all of their development stages.

FOUNDERS

Francisco MeCe

Filmmaker and cinematographer graduated from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) and the B.A. in Visual Arts with a Major in Audiovisual Arts at the Universidad Javeriana, Bogota. Since 2024 an active member of the Colombian society of cinematographers (ADFC). His work covers different areas of the audiovisual art scene, creating pieces together with musicians, choreographers, filmmakers and both visual and sound artists.

His collaborations have been featured and awarded at international film festivals such as Rotterdam IFF, Toronto IFF, CPH:DOX, Guanajuato IFF, Vancouver IFF, Doclisboa, Torino Film Festival, Film Fest Gent, among others.

He is currently in the post-production of his new feature documentary called La Caoba Couplets, shot in Colombia and winner of the Doclisboa Award for the best project in editing at Arché / Doclisboa program 2023.

Andrea Bautista Pamplona

Andrea is an interdisciplinary cultural manager with more than 12 years of experience in the field of symphonic music and audiovisual. She has worked with numerous renowned artists from diverse artistic backgrounds, most recently as Manager of the Orchestra Academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin, production manager of the Music Festival “Barocktage” of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and as producer of the feature film “Risse im Fundament”, which received the Youth Jury Award at the 43rd. Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival.

Graduated in Music with a major in Audio Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and with a Master in Arts and Media Management from the Freie Universität in Berlin.
